![]() ![]() ![]() Can you control the unit from the steeringwheel like you can with the original unit?ĥ. At night will the unit auto dim when it gets dark?Ĥ. Is the radio reception as good as the original BMW'S?ģ. Having bought a similar unit and put it in my E39 a few questions :ġ. I think i'll take the chance at £350 odd, unless the fitting is extortionate!! After all, it'll be on my credit card, so its not real cash anyway.! Perhaps an E46 zone group fitting day should also be organised by anyone/those who know how ?! This is why all the cheap chinese units are sold mainly on ebay by people out of their bedrooms, so fitting most likely will come down to a DIY. The simple reason is that for those of us in business, cheap chinese electronic items are often more hassle than they're worth compared to premium brand electronics which have much better quality and sales and backup services and channels. They, just like you don't want to be ruining anything either as you'd then ask them to replace everything at their cost! There's probably some specialists who will do the work, but I'd guess they'd say that they'll not offer a guarantee or, if something goes wrong with the unit that they'll charge you labour for removing the unit as well. S1monove - most reputable car hifi installer places don't really want to fit cheap chinese made electronics like this as there's often variances in quality and physical dimensions meaning all sorts of fitting issues and problems. The group buy does need more organising in order to have a chance of being successful ! So the ones who do pay up might have the manufacturer not agree to the discounted price if half the people don't pay up. The first thing I'd suggest on this thread is everyone who's interested puts their name down in a list! The risk is always high in threads like these that at around 50% of the 'im in' and 'im interested' guys will not pay up at crunch time.
